I began painting at the age of 10 when I received an oil painting set for Christmas. I soon began to take lessons and continued to do so through college. I graduated from Oklahoma State University in 1970 with a degree in Education, with concentrated areas in art and music. After a break of a few years to have a family I began painting again in 1977 concentrating on western and country themes. I joined the Golden Spread Chapter of the Society of Decorative Painters in 1992.
I love to paint everything, but when I first thought about doing a book, my husband encouraged me to do one with a western theme since that is his favorite style. I would like to thank him for his "push". my "Thursday Night Therapy" painting group and Sandra McLean for their encouragement.
I hope you will enjoy my western and country themed book as much as I have enjoyed creating it. I have many more ideas with this and other themes. So much to paint with so little time.
